So I’m officially obsessed with Brian k. Vaughan’s and Fiona Staples’ comic Saga. It’s only got 5 issues so far but I’m dyinnnng and here is why:
1. The art, especially character design is pretty cool. I never thought I’d kind of like an eight eyed half naked spider woman, but I do :( plus there is royalty with TV monitors for heads (fooly cooly?) And Markos’ ram horns are awesome. What really gets me though is the use of the brush in her inking. It just seems to pop up in all the right places.
2. The lying cat. I mean the whole story is hilarious, but she kills me.
3. Somehow it is equal parts gnarly and badass while simultaneously being hilariously cute.
4. Hazel being mixed race both diegetically and non-diegetically. Nuff said.
